No classes today! Obviously, I slept in. After waking, I read some more of Malcom X before starting my day.
The first thing I had to do was start my Global Studies project. If you’ll remember, I picked my group based on partners who would want, like me, to half-ass the hell outta this thing. At this point in the voyage, the majority of students had put in at least 10 hours of work on the project. We had yet to start, but were having our first meeting that afternoon. We were supposed to come prepared with research, so I looked up statistics about water and energy usage in bathrooms in Japan.
My research took longer than I’d hoped. And by that, I mean it took about an hour. Once I’d found a few good sources, I grabbed lunch and headed to the group meeting. That took another half hour, during which we settled on the direction we’d like to take the project. I spent another hour after the meeting making slides for our presentation. That was just about all the work I would put into the project.
Once I’d finished the day’s schoolwork, I started working on the rap. However, Nick persuaded me In Treatment instead.
That afternoon, Amy came over. You guessed it, readers, we hooked up. Again. I know, I’m a huge playa riding a hot streak. I get it all the time, honestly.
Before dinner Jenny organized a special spiritual dance outside, and she had me organize drummers to provide the music. It was really special to play outside; we even got to watch the sunset.
After dinner, I had important progress in my bowel movement. As you know, I’d picked up traveler’s D a couple days ago. But after dinner, my poo was significantly more solid. It gave me hope that I was reaching the end.
That night, the Baltic Sea had movie night. We watched Up. I’d never seen it before, and, like all Pixar movies, it was stellar (Editor’s Note: I just saw Toy Story 3, it was fantastic. Pixar is an unbelievable movie studio). They also had free popcorn and cookies, which was sweet.
After the movie I practiced with Tolan for a while, and then headed back to the room get some sleep. Before bed, though, Nick convinced me at least start Superhero Movie, a slapstick that I figured would really suck. To my delight, though, it was really well done. I laughed a lot. I couldn’t wait to finish it the following day.
