With the whole solitary confinement thing behind me, I enjoyed sleeping in. I woke up around 11 feeling fresh as a daisy. I didn’t smell as fresh as a daisy, though, so I took a shower.
I grabbed a quick lunch before I had to present my Global Studies group project. Now Nick and I were smart about this; we selected two partners on the sole basis that they, like us, wanted to half-ass the project. So, while some groups spent upwards of 50 hours making movies and other things, we just did a powerpoint on water and energy use in bathrooms around the world. I spent less than 2 hours total on the project.
Our presentation went fine. Don had us race though the powerpoint and then asked us general questions. Our final grade was 88%, which is hilarious for two reasons. First, we did not deserve anything close to a B+. Second, we were, apparently, only one of two groups to receive a B+. The other group got an 88% as well. Every other group got an A, but none higher than 95%. So, in essence, the project was graded on an 8 point scale. We spend a couple hours for an 88%, and the best group spent over 50 hours for a 95%. Talk about diminishing returns.
After the presentation I practiced with Tolan. The Ballad of Jedediah was solid, but it was really tough for us to nail down the rap. It has the hardest vocals of our entire library.
Once we finished practicing, I spent about a half hour studying for that night’s Global Studies Exam. The test was right after dinner, and it went fine. It felt like I got a B. I cannot tell you how liberating it is to take exams with nothing on the line.
After the test Amy came over. Goddamn I miss that girl, because she is flippin cool. And sexy. Needless to say, after spending the evening hanging out with her, my final bullet point for the day says “went to bed happy.”
