I had an early wake up for Convocation. I went to the Union, but, upon seeing the program, I decided to skip it. It was just a bunch of speeches; graduating seniors did not even walk. I really only wanted to see James, who was the first in his family to graduate college. Congrats, buddy, I’m still proud as hell of you.
So instead of sitting through convocation in the Union, I watched it on TV while I packed. Once it ended, I went back to my lists, still needing signatures and media. It took all day, but I ended up getting everything I needed except some media from Michael and Marcus.
Since it was my last night on the MV Explorer, I decided to pull an all-nighter. Around midnight, there was a dance party outside on deck 8, the front of the ship. Once we got tired of moving around, we just sat around and hung out. I mostly kicked it with Nate, Amy, and Derek.
We eventually got kicked off deck 8 (I’m unsure why), so we moved to deck 7, the back of the ship. Tolan and Jake showed up, which was sweet. Since it was 3 am and seemed appropriate at the time, we decided to have a drum circle. I’d already packed away my drum, so I just listen to Tolan, Jake, and Derek play together. It was probably better that way, anyhow, as they’re all brilliant musicians and sounded great playing just the three of them. I would have muddled up the sound.
But as they were playing, my gas tank finally hit empty and I fell asleep on deck.
