Day 102 – At Sea

It was a study day for A classes today, which meant no class. Woot! I took the opportunity to sleep in.

After grabbing lunch, I spent a few hours finishing up a few pieces for drawing class. I know I’ve said it a bunch of times, but I really like drawing. It is so relaxing, I’ve gotta get back in the habit.

That afternoon I went to the top deck to help Toby shoot his movie called Togetherness. He basically just needed bodies, and I was happy to help him out.

During the shooting, Marcus was helping Toby get footage and had to stand on a rail to get one of his shots. A security officer asked him to step down, but Marcus said he just needed to be up for about 30 seconds to get his shot. The security officer said that was fine and walked away. No fear, Cynthia to the rescue! She ordered Marcus to get down. When Marcus told her the security guard said it was fine, Cynthia replied by saying “she asked me, as the Dean of Students, to tell you to stop.” I watched the entire interaction, and the officer did no such thing. When Marcus balked at the request, Cynthia threatened serious consequences if he did not get down immediately. So he got down and didn’t get the shot. Toby later told me that his movie was going to suck because he missed the shot he needed. (Editor’s Note: One sentence in the previous paragraph is made up).

After dinner I practiced with Tolan. We were getting better and better at the rap, but still not perfect. That was OK, though, we had two more days to practice.

After I practice Amanda invited me to her room to watch Indiana Jones. We cuddled, joked around, and watched the movie. It was a nice, but a little sad. I couldn’t help but think about the fact that the voyage was ending in less than a week. I wish we more time together.
