Day 17 – At Sea

So today was our first "day off" on the ship (though, in all fairness, every day is a day off for me). It was sweet. But first about the dance last night.

I looked fantastic, if I do say so myself. I wore my flashy black shirt with a colorful, anthropomorphized whale yelling or something. Then I had my Flava Flav clock necklace, my Spiderman hat, and my yellow Kanye Stunna Shades. I literally received over 100 compliments for the clock/outfit. It was super cool.

The dance was fun. This cute blonde girl, Brianna, was on my short list of girls I’d hoped I’d run into. I did indeed run into her, and after a few minutes of regular dancing she came in for some booty dancing. That was a pleasant surprise. I’d thought she may be interested, but I didn’t expect her to take matters into her own buttocks so quickly. We ended up booty dancing for probably close to two hours, which was ultimately very tedious. However, I was expecting that it would lead to late-night festivities, so I obliged. But I had zero success getting rid of her friends, and we eventually took a group water break. Then she and her friends left without saying anything. I thought this was odd, because generally, in my experience, over an hour of booty dancing is a clear sign in favor of late-night festivities. I’m much less miffed over not getting late-night festivities as I’m miffed that I wasted so much time booty-dancing. But whatevsies, a cute girl was rubbing all up in my business. Boo-freaking-hoo.

Today was fun. I slept in until around 10:30, then read Mr. Mandela’s autobiography. He just became a big-time player in the ANC, but has yet to be arrested. It’s a pretty good read, but he includes some interactions that I could really do without. I can’t blame the man, though, he was probably pretty bored the 27 years he was locked up.

After a stellar lunch which had brownie desert, I had a production meeting with my SeaTV team. I seem to be the head idea man, which is pretty darn sweet. The group loved my Law and Order SVU parody idea, as well as a Grey’s Anatomy, Jersey Shore (Jewsey Shore) and a karaoke-adapted version of Ship Idol. I also want to walk around foreign countries trying to get high fives, just to watch the reactions. Should be fun.

In the afternoon, I hung out with friends and I worked out. GETTING SWOL!! Actually, I realized I’m not getting more swol (read: big), and haven’t been for quite some time. I think I’m at my healthy size. I’m just getting stronger and more toned. My end-of-voyage-goal is to be able to do 40 pull-ups in 3 sets, and no more than three minutes rest between each set. Wish me luck.

After a shower I ate dinner, but it didn’t compare to lunch. Okey doke, I gotta run and find Tolan. We have like three days or so to finish our song before the next Open Mic night. Until tomorrow, my friends.
